The purpose of this unit is to explore the problematic situations we live in our world.
In 2015, countries adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Governments, businesses and civil society together with the United Nations are mobilizing efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Agenda by 2030. Universal, inclusive and indivisible, the Agenda calls for action by all countries to improve the lives of people everywhere.
The Global Goals for Sustainable Development
Take a look at the following videos:
Leave no one behind
Global and local issues that young people see as the most serious
Task 1:
After watching the videos, write in comments:
1. What are the Global Goals for Sustainable Development?
2. What is the importance of do not leaving no one behind?
3. According to you, what is the most serious glocal issue?
- Give the definition of the chosen glocal issue
- What is the importance of that issue
For example:
For me, one of the most serious glocal issues in Medellín and in many countries in the world is the violence against women. Gender-based violence or violence against women is any act of violence that are committed against women and girls. According to a study of the Free University, over 3.000 women have been abused by their partners or ex-partners in Colombia during this year. It is important to speak about it because if women feel safe in a community, they can contribute to build a better society, therefore a happier world.

- PARTNERSHIPS FOR THE GOALS; a world where all countries work together to have sustainable development
2. We can not leave anyone behind to achieve global goals, since the life of everyone must change to improve
Delete3. I think the most serious problem is inequality, because everyone does not have the same opportunities to progress
For me, poverty is the most serious problem in Colombia.Poverty is a situation in which someone does not have enough money to pay for their basic needs. In Colombia, about 30% of the population are in a position of poverty, this makes everyone does not have the same opportunities to progress, and appear the inequality.
Delete1. A world in witch nobody lives extreme poverty.
ReplyDelete- A world where nobody will go hungry.
-A world where health services will be a right for life.
-A world where education will provide us with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead a full life.
-A world where women and girls will have the same opportunities for progress.
-A world where everyone can have clean water.
-A world where we have sustainable energy for all.
-A world where the economy will flourish to create decent work.
-A world where prejudices and extreme inequalities will have eradicated.
-A world where we return to the earth what we take from it.
-A world where climate change is decisively reversed.
-A world where we protect and take care of the life of our seas and oceans.
-A world where we restore terrestrial life.
-A world where there will be peace, justice will reign and we will be equal.
-A world wherw countries worked together for a common goal.
2. Because each person has the opportunity to have a fair and dignified life, no matter who or where they are we the same rights
3. For me the most serious local problem is the lack of economic opportunities and employment.
for me, the most serious local problem in Medellín is Unemployment, which occurs, among other reasons, when the amount of equipment, financial and technical resources available to a country are insufficient to allow the employment of all the available labor force. In Medellín, unemployment has risen at a rate of 12.8% in the first quarter of the year, much higher than unemployment at the national level (10.8%). This problem brings with it others such as: having a good diet, quality education, decent housing; and among others; that is why we must look for alternatives to counteract these effects and achieve a higher quality of life.

In Medellín, unemployment increased by 12.8% in the first quarter of the year, 10.8% more. Delete1. No poverty. Zero hunger. Good health and well-being. Quality education. Gender education. Clean water and sanitation. Affordable and clean energy. Decent work and economic growth. Industry, innovation and infrastructure. Reduce inequalities. Sustainable cities and communities. Responsible consumption and production. Climate action. Life below water. Life on land. Peace and justice, strong institutions. Partnerships for the goals! Global goals, for everyone, everywhere.
ReplyDelete2. I think that this a task for everyone, the peace, the love be things that be build it between everyone. No one can be indifferent with this, with our goals, with our life; because we, everyone, we are a family, the earth's family.
3. I think that the most serious global issue is the indifference. Indifference with the hurt of our partner, with the hurt we are doing to the Earth. Try to make the difference, a positive difference, can be our way for save us.
who are you?
Delete1.The objectives are to be the first generation to end extreme poverty, fight against justice and inequality, save the planet from climate change, that no one endure hunger and have quality education, that they always have service to water, where industry and Innovation will not be used just to make money, but to improve the lives of people, there will be extreme inequality, restore the life of the oceans and the seas, where there will be peace in the countries and we will be equal before the law.
ReplyDelete2. Because this is an obligation that must be built between everyone, each contributing a little of what he knows and helping with the common goal, nobody can say that he does not care because everyone has the right to have a decent life.
3.For me, the most serious local problem is the lack of interest in what happens around, not knowing and doing nothing about this.
For me, one of the biggest problems in Medellin is the lack of education for low-income children, because children are the future of the country, but if they do not have education, they have nothing, there are some who can not even read and write and this is a very important factor.
DeleteNO POVERTY: Fight against extreme poverty; Here is also included the project of: zero hunger
ReplyDeleteQUALITY EDUCATION: All people, especially children, will have access to a decent education
GOOD HEALTH AND WELL-BEING: The world population must have a good health service
GENDER EQUALITY: Women would have the same opportunities as men
INDUSTRY, INNOVATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE: Not only seeks to advance to generate income for nations, but also to facilitate the lives of people
AFFORDABLE AND CLEAN ENERGY: Sustainable energy must be deployed for all
CLEAN WATER AND SANITATION: Water is a fundamental right for all, for what you want to ensure
SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND COMMUNITIES: People would be entitled to a decent housing and environment
PARTNERSHIPS FOR THE GOALS: Countries and people must make an alliance to meet these goals
2.
The importance of not leaving anyone behind is the fact that the only hope of humanity is humanity itself; by protecting our people we are protecting the entire planet.
3
For me the most serious global problem is poverty, if we manage to eradicate it, it will be a big step because the people who commit crimes by necessity will be motivated to work for a better place for their children.
hunger will be forgotten, and so the productivity of different countries will increase.
1. Live in a world:
ReplyDelete-Where nobody anywhere lives in extreme proverty.
-Where nobody Will go humgry.
-Where health services Will be a right for life.
-Where everyone go to school.
-Where all girls and all women have equal opportunities to thrive and be powerful safe.
-Where all people can get water and proper toilets at home at school energy for everyone.
-Where economies prosper.
-Where our industry, our infraestructur and our best innovations were not just used to make money.
-Where our prejudices and extreme equality are inside our countries and between different communities, where people live in cities and communities are safe.
-Where we can restore and protect the life and oceans and seas.
-Where we can restore and protect life on land forests animals.
-Where governments are open.
2. Because everyone have a voice, have a purpose in the life, and need an opportunity to do that they want, is necessary see to the neighbor, and value their live.
3. For me the most serious global issue is the indifference that we as a community have with the people who needs to be heard, that be in a situation that needs to be changed;and to believe that doesn't afecct us, is to believe that we live in a crystal bubble.
For me, the most serious glocal issues is the bad situation of the inmigrants that is live so much people in this moment, a big example is the case of venezuelans in our country, in specific in Medellin our city, where almost of 14.353 people had been counted, people that in a moment were so happy, but for a bad decision of a goberment injust and inequitable, have to work for their dreams and goals in another place, and have to leave the culture and family, for be maltreated for another people that is so indifferent, and doesn´t heard them.
DeleteIf we as a Colombians don't help our neighbors, the situation can will be worst, and that not only harms them, but also harms to we, our culture, security and economy.
1. No poverty; a world where nobody anywhere will live in extreme poverty
ReplyDelete2. Zero hunger; a world where nobody will go hungry
3. Good health and well-being; a world where services will be a right for life for all of us
4. Quality education; a world where everyone can will go to school to learn
5. Gender equality; a world where all the girls and women will have the equal opportunities to progress, be powerful and safe
6. Clean water and sanitation; a world where all people can get clean water and proper toilets at home, at school and at work
7. Affordable and clean energy; a world where there will be sustainable energy for everyone.
8. Decent work and economic growth; a world where economies prosper and new wealth leads to decent jobs for everyone

16. Peace, justice and strong institutions; a world where there will be peace between the countries and within the countries
17. Partnerships for the goals; a world where all countries work together to have sustainable development.
2. The importance of not leaving anyone behind is that the only ones who can do something for the planet are we. Each one should contribute a great help to any global issues and thus we would all have better rights in life.
3. I think that the most serious glocal issue is inequality education because the best scientists graduate of countries that are powers in the world and we don’t know if the poor children are smart because we don't give them the opportunity to study
For me, one of the most serious glocal issues in Medellin and in some countries in the world is Educational inequality. Educational inequality is the unequal distribution of academic resources, including but not limited to; school funding, qualified and experienced teachers, books, and technologies to socially excluded communities. These communities tend to be historically disadvantaged and oppressed. More times than not, individuals belonging to these marginalized groups are also denied access to the schools with abundant resources. Inequality leads to major differences in the educational success or efficiency of these individuals and ultimately suppresses social and economic mobility. Is is important to deepen about it because it is a global issues that we all must fight to improve the porverty, violence and gender inequality . also is very important that more children can study because their knowledges will help them have a successful future. then, we will live in a quality community.

2. Nobody should be left behind so that all can live with dignity.
3. For me, the most serious global problem is poverty, because it generates many others: inequality, hunger, disease, violence ...
For me, the most important glocal issue is poverty, the greatest difficulties in the world occur in the poorest countries In the World, because not have acces of the fundamental resources. In Colombia, according to the DANE, poverty is around thirty percent and many more people have problems with money, related to hunger, lack of health, lack of education and violence. is very difficult for a person with these conditions to have a decent life.

15. LIFE ON LAND
16. PEACE, JUSTICE AND STRONG INSTITUTIONS
17. PARTNERSHIPS FOR THE GOALs
2. It's very important because we have to be in solidarity with hungry poor people who are also forced to migrate to other countries
3. i think that most global issue are the corruption and social inequality. the social inquality occurs when resources in a given society are distributed unevenly, typically through norms of allocation, that engender specific patterns along lines of socially defined categories of persons. It is the differentiation preference of access of social goods in the society brought about by power, religion, kinship, prestige, race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, and class. The social rights include labor market, the source of income, health care, and freedom of speech, education, political representation, and participation.
so i think that this is tne main issue as well and corruption that we have to solve
1. End poverty, hunger, have good education, good health and wellbeing, end gender inequality, have clean water and energy, decent work and economic growth, industries and infrastructure, reduce inequalities, sustainable cities, consumption and responsible production , protect life under water, have peace and justice.
ReplyDelete2. Each person has an objective and something to contribute to the world.
3. I believe that the most serious problem is poverty, because it leads to violence, it brings inequality, also hunger and disease.
1. One of the biggest problems is poverty, because of this one of the biggest objectives is to end it. One of the objectives is sustainable energy, drinking water, taking measures for climate change, gender equality and that peace is a very important
ReplyDelete2. We all have the same rights and we all want to live a future, so we can all contribute to improve the world
3. For me, one of the most serious problems here in Medellin and in many other places are the climate changes caused by air pollution with forest fires or the number of cars. air quality is already well studied and it is clear that it is a very serious problem which is necessary to talk about this
Task 1.
ReplyDelete1). 1. No poverty. A world where nobody anywhere live in extreme poverty.
2. Zero hunger. When no one goes hungry.
3. Good health and well being. we will live in a world where the children I’ve diseases we know how to cure.
4. quality education. for us all an good education give us us the knowledge and skills perfect for life.
5. Gender equality. We will live in a world where all have equal opportunities.
6. Clean water and sanitation. we will live in a world where all can get a clean water.
7. Affordable and clean energy. At home or at school energy for everyone.
8. decent work and economic growth. you'll live in a world where economies prosper.
9. industry, innovation and infrastructure. we will live in a world where our industry were not just make money but to make all our life better.
10. reduced inequalities. we will live in the world without prejudices and extremes of inequality .
11. sustanaible cities and communities. where the people live on safe places.
12. Responsible consumption and production.
13. climate action. live in a world that is decisively rolling back.
14. life below water. we restore and protect the life on oceans.
15. Life on land. we restore and protect the life on land, forests the earth itself.
16. peace justice and strong institutions. We will live in a world have peace between all the countries.
17. partnerships for the goals.
2). all of us work together to achieve the objectives, for the benefit of all and improve our lives. Because of this, it is important that no one is left behind, we are a society and as such, we need.
3). for me the most important global problem is injustice and weak governments, corruption, especially in poor countries, where they do not support their people and equality between people, giving little help to combat the other problems that have the society.
1)
ReplyDelete1. No poverty.
2. Zero hunger.

13. Climate action.
14. Life below wáter.
15. Life on land.
16. Peace, justice and strong institutions.
17. Partnerships for the goals.
2) we all have to put these goals into practice, then it is not enough with us, we have to do it together so that progress is more noticeable. Also, if we work together, the message spreads rapidly.
3) For me, the most important glocal problem in Medellín is insecurity, this feeling that makes us feel exposed or defenseless in the face of the danger generated by robberies, robberies, murders, rapes, etc.
In 2016, 534 homicides were reported in Medellín, 38 more cases in relation to 2015, which resulted in a 6.8% increase in the homicide rate compared to the immediately previous year, standing at a rate of 21.5 cases of homicides per one hundred thousand inhabitants.
In 2016, Medellín presented dissimilar behavior in the complaint depending on the crimes. Thus, the crimes of highway theft, motorcycle theft and robbery to financial entities grew between 2015 and 2016, 49%, 15% and 88.9%, respectively.

1. Some of the goals to solve the whole problems in the world are:people not leaving in poverty, no hungry, and very good nutrition for kids not only fed but nourished,a very good health system for everyone, the same opportunities for women and men in incomes and jobs, any kind of violence, specially for women, clean water , a clean and healthy environment, quality education, gender equality, affordable and clean energy, decent work and economic growth, industry innovation and infraestructure, reduced inequalities, sustainable cities and communities, responsible production and consumption, climate action, protect the forest, the animals, the oceans, peace Justice and strong institutions and partnerships for the goals.
ReplyDelete2.It's very important because we can helps us each other to achieve all this goals to have a better way of life.
3.For me, the biggest issue in my city and all the cities in the world is the poverty. According to the world bank, almost 767 million people lived with only USD 1,90 per day in 2013. That means that exist a big inequality of resources among the people. The poverty generates violence, and this is how it grows all the problems that we have in the world.
